Seiki is pushing the envelope of budget 4K HDTVs even further with the introduction of a new 55″ model for just $1,499. This big-screen offering joins their current lineup which includes a 39 and 50-inch model. The only catch is that it is available exclusively at Sears. It can be used as a TV or massive computer monitor (hello Mac Pro!). With a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160, it should create a pretty amazing ultra-HD experience.
The Seiki 55-inch class 4K model features a thin piano black finish bezel, 54.6-inch diagonal panel size, built-in digital and analog channel tuning, USB port for displaying 4K photos via USB flash drive, and multiple video and audio connections to support current standard and high-definition video content. The model is also packaged with an HDMI 1.4 standard cable.
Now here’s the kicker. If you can hold off on your purchase for two weeks, the Seiki SE55UY04 will be just $849.99 on Black Friday from Sears. That’s a $650 price drop and by far the best price on a 4K TV/monitor of its size. Sears guarantees there will be at least 2 units per store. No word on if the deal will be live online. (via BFads)
