As its Gold Box deal of the day, Amazon is offering the lowest prices ever on each of its MFi (Apple-approved) black Lightning cables:

As an added bonus, your purchase will include a $5 credit to the Amazon App Store.

MFi certification means that the cable is manufactured to meet Apple’s extensive criteria. It will not produce any nasty iOS7 warnings or cause harm to your device. Apple also has the ability to render knock-off cables useless as part of future iOS updates. Bottom lines that it’s not worth it to buy the cheapo unauthorized Lighting products.

The 6′ length is perfect for getting some extra reach when using a plugged in iPad while laying in bed. It’s a glorious feeling not having to be glued to your nightstand.

As a further pricing comparison, Apple charges $19 for 3′ and $29 for 6′. Over 4,200 Amazon reviewers rate these cables 4 stars. Cables will ship free for Prime members (free trial). All other buyers must spend at least $35 to sidestep shipping costs. Check out the rest of our favorite MFi accessories here.

Use your savings to pick up a Mac/PC game for less than $5 as part of the Digital Games Sale.

  1. I have one of these and it’s really nice, way better than the cable Apple provides. It’s a thicker rubber coating, seemed to solve the problem with the cat eating my cables. Only problem is the part right before the plug is larger so my phone has to be removed from the case (Otterbox Armor).

  2. Please post update: The black cables are on sale, NOT the white cables.
