Sony NEX-6L 16.1 MP Digital Camera w/ 16-50mm power zoom lens $524 shipped (Reg. $900)

Update (4/30 7:15am): The pricing war is on! B&H drops down to $524 and still includes a free Sony 32GB SDHC memory card. Amazon drops to $524 as well.

Update (4/29 1:25pm): Amazon has dropped the price of its bundle to $524.99.

B&H offers the Sony NEX-6L 16.1 MP Digital Camera w/ 16-50mm lens for $549 with free shipping (includes free 32GB SDHC card, $22 value), but a close second is Amazon’s daily Gold Box deal for $549.99. That’s $350 below retail and the best price we have ever seen by $50.

It packs a 16 MP APS-C sensor with up to 10 fps shooting and full HD video into a design so compact that it can fit in the palm of your hand. WiFi sharing allows you to quickly transfer photos to your smartphone or tablet via the PlayMemories Mobile app. The lens is interchangeable so you purchase different lenses in the future as your photography skills grow.

It’s rated 4.3 out of 5 stars from Amazon reviewers and is a Wirecutter favorite:

…if I was to go out to a store and buy a mirrorless camera for less than $1,000 right now, it would be the NEX-6. None of the competition offer the same quality and features at that price. For sharp images, excellent color, low noise, a viewfinder and plentiful manual controls in a small package, you’re not going to get anything better.
