During the lead up to WWDC there was some optimism Apple would finally release a new external Display, but that hope quickly disappeared. Apple quelled all rumors last night when it announced plans to discontinue the Thunderbolt Display and recommended prospective buyers check out 3rd party options. There’s a chance Apple could release an all-new monitor at some point down the road, but given Apple’s recent shift away from professional products, it wouldn’t be surprising if we never see another display come out of Cupertino.
To that end, we’ve rounded up the best monitors available right now across all budgets for Mac users…
LeBron James has been endorsing Beats Powerbeats2 Wireless Headphones for years and he just brought Cleveland its first major sports championship in more than 50 years. Coincidence? Most likely! But that doesn’t change the fact that they are still great looking and sounding headphones. Right now you can get them from Amazon in Red, Flash Blue (Active Collection), Shock Yellow (Active Collection) and Siren Red (Active Collection) on sale for $119.99 with free shipping. Alternatively, Best Buy also offers the same discounted price on a few additional colors like Black and White. As a price comparison, they carry a list price of $200 and usually sell for around $150.
I’m partial to the Shock Yellow model since it matches perfectly with most of the latest athletic fashion trends. These headphones feature wireless Bluetooth connectivity (up to 30-ft), 6-hour rechargeable battery, RemoteTalk, and are IPX4 sweat resistant. Rated 3.7 out of 5 stars from more than 4,000 Amazon reviewers.

It’s no secret airlines love to work us over for every possible penny. You can take the apathetic approach and just hand over your hard-earned money or choose to do some research so you can afford a couple extra vacation margaritas.
One effective way to decrease travel costs is to avoid those pesky baggage fees. Instead of just packing your suitcase and hoping for the best, there are several ways you can minimize or even eliminate these additional costs. Continue on for an overview on how it’s done…
Aside from everyday deals and coupons, one of the best ways to save on all your purchases is to choose the correct payment method for your spending habits. Credit and debit cards often extend big signup and cash back offers, but high annual fees and misleading promo terms may offset any potential savings if you’re not careful.
While you probably get solicited on a weekly basis from American Express, Chase, Discover and others, Amazon’s lesser known Prime Store Card is a viable (and potentially more lucrative) option you should consider before jumping into bed with one of the big players…

You were able to trim your upfront costs by a good margin, but now it’s likely you’ve found yourself struggling to free up enough space for software updates. Unless you’re comfortable performing surgery on your Mac, the best way to increase its storage is with Transcend’s JetDrive Lite Storage Expansion Card. The 256GB 13-inch MacBook Air (Late 2010 – Early 2015) version is now on sale at Amazon for $124.99 shipped, which is about $30 below its regular price and the best deal we’ve ever seen.

Use the extra space to offload large media files or even for Time Machine so you never miss another backup. Rated 4.4 out of 5 stars from nearly 600 Amazon reviewers. More details are as follows:

Bose headphones and speakers are notorious for hardly ever going on sale. But right now Amazon has marked the SoundLink Mini Bluetooth Speaker II down to $179 with free shipping, which is a fresh 10% discount and one of the lowest overall prices we’ve seen.
I bought this speaker as a present for my dad’s birthday about 6-months ago and he still raves about it every time I see him. Don’t trust my dad’s ears? We were so impressed with the original SoundLink Mini that we went as far as calling it the best sounding Bluetooth speaker ever. The second generation model built on that greatness by adding microUSB charging and improving battery life (now 10 hours). We’re not the only ones who love this speaker. More than 1,600 Amazon reviewers rate it 4.7 out of 5 stars.

Since today is National Streaming Day, I thought it’d be a good chance to share my story of how I finally cut the cord. To start, I would say that cutting the cord isn’t terribly easy. There are a variety of different services and devices to carefully consider. If you’re looking for a quick-fix then keep overpaying your cable company each month, full-time streaming likely isn’t for you.
Everyone’s TV watching habits and preferences are different so there isn’t a one-size fits all approach to cutting the cord, but hopefully my experiences will help you finally kick your money-grubbing cable provider to the curb…
