You’ve waited all year for it — Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale is finally here. And it’s huge. The men’s side of the sale alone includes more than 4,000 items from a range of brands including Nike, Calvin Klein, Burberry, The North Face, Lacoste, Patagonia, Lucky Brand, Original Penguin, Michael Kors, Sperry, Versace, and many others.
There’s no doubt that this sale can feel overwhelming but if you follow a couple of these tips you should be able to spot some killer deals. Use the “Narrow by:” filters at the top of the page. I recommend using the “brand” and “price” options to weed out brands you’re not a fan of and crazy expensive items. You can select multiple brands at a time so go ahead and tick off everything you’re interested in. I also like to use the “Sort by featured” and “Sort by newest” filters to see what’s hot. Another option is to browse the sale catalog to get a good overview of what’s available.
As an added bonus, all Nordstrom Rewards members will earn double points from July 17th to July 19th. The Anniversary Sale ends August 3rd. As of right now size and color selections are plentiful, but there’s no doubt that’ll change as popular items begin to sell out. All orders qualify for free shipping and returns.

Apple doesn’t make it easy to expand the storage of its mobile devices. This becomes a big issue when you start shooting HD videos and downloading Retina apps. Most people (especially 16GB device owners) wind up filling their devices to the point that they don’t have enough space to install updates. Over the past couple of years SanDisk’s Connect wireless flash drives have been one of the best ways to workaround this problem: they allow you to have access to huge media files whenever you want and to take as many pictures as you want without eating up precious on-board storage.
This morning SanDisk released its new Connect Wireless Stick. This drive has a refreshed design, lower price point and is now available with up to 128GB. I’ve been using it for the past few days. Read on to find out my first impressions of it: expand full story
Black Friday may be more than 136 days away, but the way Amazon and Walmart are competing right now makes it feel like we’re knee-deep in the holiday shopping season.
Amazon made the first move last week when it announced Prime day, a 24-hour period of exclusive deals for Amazon Prime members. Then late last week we noticed Walmart put up a banner that said “Low Price every day for everyone. No sales. No gimmicks. No membership fees.” A clear shot at Amazon and its $99 Prime membership. Now this morning Fernando Madeira, President and CEO of Walmart.com, penned a blog post about how Walmart’s prices are always low and that Walmart doesn’t require customers to pay additional fees to access sale prices. Another clear shot at Amazon.
However, these two gigantic corporations bickering is good news for deal seekers. Not only are we getting Amazon’s Prime Day this week, but Walmart has announced a week of special deals including some of “atomic” proportions. Walmart’s free shipping threshold has also been dropped from $50 to $35, which is (I’m sure) not coincidentally the same as Amazon’s for non Prime shoppers.
We expect to hear more details surrounding Walmart’s deals in the next few days, while Prime Day officially kicks off on Wednesday. We will have complete coverage of both events so be sure to follow along.
By now you’re probably tired of looking at the same old band on your Apple Watch. You could easily switch up its style with one of Apple’s different bands. But their sky-high prices make it nearly impossible for most people to afford different styles.
Third party bands have been popping up and some are suprisingly good. This black 38mm Stainless Steel band is one of the most popular on Amazon and is currently down to its lowest price ever, just $36.99 shipped. It’s also available in multiple colors and the larger 42mm size, but prices vary. 72 Amazon reviewers rate it 4.2 out of 5 stars.
Other reasonably priced and highly rated Apple Watch bands on Amazon:
- JETech Leather band: $18.95 Prime shipped
- Oittm Stainless Steel band: $35.99 shipped
- Aerb Milanese style band: $32.99 Prime shipped
- iVAPO Stainless Steel band: $34.99 shipped
- eLander Leather band: $24.99 Prime shipped
- Luvvitt Stainless Steel adapter kit: $14.99 Prime shipped
Well known and well reviewed watch accessory maker Clockwork Synergy has a couple dozen Apple Watch band options made from leather or nylon with prices starting at $25.95. Even cooler, they sell Apple Watch adapters in multiple color finishes for $14.95-$16.95. You can use these to put any watch band on your Apple Watch. For a limited time you can save 15% on all of these accessories with coupon code mac15 at checkout. All orders qualify for free shipping.
Whichever band you end up with, make sure you have a nice dock for your Apple Watch. I’m partial to Nomad’s aluminum offering (currently 15% off), but there are tons of other styles available. expand full story
