Apple has now officially kicked off another Amazing Apps and Games for $1 sale on the App Store. Many of which were featured in yesterday’s game roundup and are at some of lowest prices we have seen in quite some time. These are direct discounts and not related to lower emerging market pricing.

Rovio iOS sale: Angry Birds Space for iPhone goes free for the first time, AB Stars Wars HD $1 (Reg. $3), more

Beloved app developer Rovio has put a number of its apps on sale today. While you certainly can’t go wrong with any Angry Birds deal, Angry Birds Space for iPhone has now gone free for the first time on the App Store. Regularly a $1 purchase, this is the very first price drop we have seen on the interstellar bird slinger for iPhone. More details below.

You’ll find more Angry Birds games on sale as well. All but Seasons are the lowest prices we have seen in over a year (Seasons went free for a little over a week back February). These apps combine for a 4+ star rating from around 300,000 reviewers:

Pixelmator image editor and painting app for iOS hits its lowest price ever: $1 (Reg. $5)

The popular iOS image editor Pixelmator has dropped to its lowest price ever today. It was originally released at $9.99 back in October of 2014, and has never dropped below $4.99 before today. The Pixelmator Team just recently made the app a universal one, so it can now be downloaded to all your iOS devices for just $1.

Just in time to get your baseball fix during MLB’s All-Star break, R.B.I. Baseball 15 for iOS is getting its very first price drop today. Originally released at the end of April this year for $4.99, today you can download it on your iOS devices for just $1.99.

App Store Free App of the Week: Star Walk 2 goes free for the first time ($3 value)

Apple has now officially selected Star Walk 2 – Guide to the Night Sky as the new App Store Free App of the Week. Regularly listed at $2.99, you can grab the app for free on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch from now through this time next week. This is the very first time we have seen the app go free directly on the App Store since it released in August 2014.

Readdle launches Scanner Pro 6 for iOS w/ updated features & release day pricing: $3 (Reg. $6)

Today, popular productivity app developer Readdle has launched Scanner Pro 6. While we have seen the app drop down to free previous to being updated to the latest version this morning, Scanner Pro 6 is currently available for 50% off for a limited time. You can download the scanner app for $2.99 to your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, but it will shoot back up to $5.99 once the limited release pricing period ends, which could be as early as tomorrow.

Apple has now officially handpicked Warhammer: Snotling Fling as the new Free App of the Week. The catapult crasher regularly goes for $4 and can be downloaded onto your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch for free until this time next week. While we have seen it dip down to $1, this is the very first time it has gone free on the App Store.

Apple has now officially chosen Magnetized as the new Free App of the Week. It regularly goes for $2.99, but will be free on all your iOS devices until this time next week. It was released back in January of last year and has only gone free once previously. This abstract puzzle game packs 80 levels and tasks players to escape the maze using special powers.

Apple has now unveiled the new Free App of the Week: regularly listed at $1.99, you can now pick Quetzalcoatl up for free on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

Hundreds of App Store reviewers have given it a near-perfect rating while praising its unique gameplay. After a quick parsing of the reviews, it seems like the screenshots and promo images don’t do this game justice. From what I was able to discern, this is a game you need to play to appreciate. Apple has picked Mighty Switch Force! Hose It Down! to be this week’s free iOS app. Available on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, you can now download the “pick-up-and-play puzzler” for free. Regularly listed between $1 and $2, this week’s sale is the very first time we have seen the game go free since its release in early February.

Dust off your Game Boy cartridges, this case will let you play them on your iPhone 6 Plus

Hyperkin, a company known for its retro gaming hardware and accessories, leaked some initial details and concept drawings for an upcoming Game Boy-style iPhone add-on recently. Initially considered an April Fools’ joke by many, and it partially was, but the company has since confirmed its validity:

“A lot of you were speculating that the Smart Boy is an April Fools’ Joke. Well, it sort of was. We “leaked” it with the initial intent of testing the market, seeing whether or not it should be something we’d actually make, under the guise of an April Fools’ Joke…Looks like you awesome folks ACTUALLY WANT IT, so the Smart Boy is now in development! Thank you all for your enthusiastic responses!”
