Readdle launches Scanner Pro 6 for iOS w/ updated features & release day pricing: $3 (Reg. $6)

Today, popular productivity app developer Readdle has launched Scanner Pro 6. While we have seen the app drop down to free previous to being updated to the latest version this morning, Scanner Pro 6 is currently available for 50% off for a limited time. You can download the scanner app for $2.99 to your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, but it will shoot back up to $5.99 once the limited release pricing period ends, which could be as early as tomorrow.

The first chapter in the epic Infinity Blade trilogy is now available for free (Reg. $6)

Apple has now officially chosen Magnetized as the new Free App of the Week. It regularly goes for $2.99, but will be free on all your iOS devices until this time next week. It was released back in January of last year and has only gone free once previously. This abstract puzzle game packs 80 levels and tasks players to escape the maze using special powers.

Apple has now unveiled the new Free App of the Week: regularly listed at $1.99, you can now pick Quetzalcoatl up for free on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

Hundreds of App Store reviewers have given it a near-perfect rating while praising its unique gameplay. After a quick parsing of the reviews, it seems like the screenshots and promo images don’t do this game justice. From what I was able to discern, this is a game you need to play to appreciate. Regularly listed between $1 and $2, this week’s sale is the very first time we have seen the game go free since its release in early February.

Dust off your Game Boy cartridges, this case will let you play them on your iPhone 6 Plus

Hyperkin, a company known for its retro gaming hardware and accessories, leaked some initial details and concept drawings for an upcoming Game Boy-style iPhone add-on recently. Initially considered an April Fools’ joke by many, and it partially was, but the company has since confirmed its validity:

“A lot of you were speculating that the Smart Boy is an April Fools’ Joke. Well, it sort of was. We “leaked” it with the initial intent of testing the market, seeing whether or not it should be something we’d actually make, under the guise of an April Fools’ Joke…Looks like you awesome folks ACTUALLY WANT IT, so the Smart Boy is now in development! Thank you all for your enthusiastic responses!”

IGN is now offering Ayptical Games’ Sky Gamblers: Cold War as its FREE game of the month. Regularly listed at $4.99 and with 4.5/5 stars from 2,257 ratings, you can now download this game for free on iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch via IGN’s deal page. We’ve seen this game go down as low as $1 a few times before, but never free.

Go back in time and re-write the Cold War with this “extensive” single and multiplayer mode game. With multiple game modes, users can enjoy campaign, survival, team deathmatch, capture the flag and more. Sky Gamblers: Cold War is compatible with Game Center and AirPlay, so you can play along with your friends or on the big screen.

Gameloft’s Modern Combat 5 Blackout for iOS hits its all-time lowest price: $1 (Reg. $4+)

It has received 4/5 stars from 7,104 ratings and is listed as the “App Store’s Best of 2014 in 28 countries!”
