Tanga offers the Lenmar ChugPlug External Power-Supply Pack for MacBook Air or Pro for $67.99 with free shipping. That’s a savings of $132 off the bloated original listing, $62 better than Amazon, a few dollars off our previous mention and the lowest price that we can find.
We chose the ChugPlug as one of our top portable battery options for MacBooks. You can expect it to add up to an additional 4 hours of battery life to the 11-inch MacBook Air and up to 3 hours for the 13-inch MacBook Air/Pro. While not a full recharge, those couple of added hours can be invaluable when trying to get work done on the road. It is compatible with standard 45 and 60W Apple MagSafe Power Adapters. Note: not compatible with 15-inch MacBooks.
It ships with a one-year manufacturer warranty. Rated 4/5 stars.

Update (5/2 12:00pm): @tweakmedia is our winner, thank you to everyone that entered the giveaway.
As Apple’s lineup continues to grow, more users are finding themselves using one device at home and one on the road. Because of that, we are seeing more home workstations in need of customization.
If you’re like myself, then an external monitor attached to a MacBook Air is the solution to this problem. The struggle of this setup is the height differential between each display. If you’re someone that sits at a desk all day, this is an issue that is certainly noticeable (and annoying!).
Grovemade, a Portland-based company, recently announced its own solution to this problem. Over the last few weeks, we’ve had the opportunity to work with the Walnut Laptop Stand. Head below for more details and to find out how you could win one yourself… expand full story

Throughout Small States you’ll hear stories of people that are making a conscious effort to bring manufacturing back to the United States. Companies that strive to create products in a way that has escaped our country and fled overseas. We are finding that these manufacturers have a great pride in what they do — this week we’re taking a look at Woodchuck USA, a company who’s pride is evident across all aspects of its business.
“Nature back to people. Jobs back to America. Quality back to products.”
With its locally grown hardwood accessories, Woodchuck has managed to create beautiful additions for your Apple devices. All the while doing it with a focus on integrity and creating jobs here in the United States.

WaterField Designs, purveyors of high-quality bags and accessories made in San Francisco, has released its latest addition to its popular line of its the commuter solutions. Designed specifically for “techies and travelers”, the made-by-hand Bolt Briefcase puts the focus on quick access to the most important items in your bag, while keeping your valuables secure.
Owner Gary Waterfield describes the new Bolt as so:
When designing the Bolt, we started with a list of what we travel with and how much protection and accessibility we need for each item. For example, my wallet and smartphone—high accessibility items—are safely stowed, but easily accessed from front magnet-closing pockets, while my laptop sits securely inside its padded main-compartment laptop sleeve.
This new bag features two “easy-access” compartments for the gear that needs to be pulled out regularly, a waterproof compartment, a padded sleeve area for laptops and a slot to slide over suitcase handles. It is available in two sizes, 13 and 17-inch and is available in a variety of colors. Starting at $249 for the small model, and $30 more for the larger rendition, the Bolt Briefcase is set to ship on January 20th.

Amazon is offering the Omaker Ultra Portable Metallic Mini Wireless Bluetooth Speaker in Pink or Blue for only $15.99 Prime shipped when you use the coupon code: VBM26USJ at checkout. That’s a $64 savings off the list price and the lowest we’ve seen for the speaker.
Omaker sent us a review unit this week and it works darn well for a $16 speaker.
It has a metallic finish with simple design. It features Bluetooth 3.0+EDR and it’s “unique and compact ostrich egg fashion appearance slips easily into your bag for use on the go.” It’s high definition and surprising fullness realized through a 4W driver and bass port – outclassing other similar-sized portable speakers. Built-in big capacity Polymer Lithium Batteries allow for a playback time of up to 8 hours.
Is it going to give something like Logitech’s Boom line a run for its money? No, not at all. But it is pretty nice and a nice accessory for a mobile device. It pairs easily and it actually says in broken english “MOMI IS WAITING FOR YOUR CONNECTION” and then confirms your connection. Then when you lose connection, more broken English.
It sounds a little bit better than the speakers on a MacBook Pro and yet it can fit in your pocket and make speakerphone calls very nicely though we heard an echo in our testing). It has lasted over 5 hours in our brief testing.
