Those with access to a .edu email address can save an additional $50, dropping the price to $699.99. For comparison, that’s good for $249.01 off the original price, down $50 from our previous mention, $10 less than Apple charges for a refurbished model and the best offer currently available.

This MacBook Air features a 13-inch display powered by Intel HD Graphics 600 and a 1.6GHz Core i5 processor. You’ll find 4GB of RAM and a 129GB internal solid-state drive on this model, as well. It also has 802.11ac wireless connectivity, two USB 3.0 ports, a Thunderbolt 2 port and 12-hours of battery life.

Just this morning Apple refreshed its 12-inch MacBook with a faster processor and improved battery life. Whether you’re springing for the new models released today or going refurbished, you’ll likely need a few key accessories to round out your setup. While the MacBook has an attractive thin design, it comes at the cost of a single USB-C port. Additionally, it can be a tough sell as an everyday machine without some external input devices. Anker is one of a few big names in USB accessories, and there’s a reason for that. This week I had the chance to use several of the company’s PowerCore+ power banks (there are a lot of different offerings spanning many capacities), as well as a PowerPort+ wall charger, and a few different PowerDrive+ car chargers. There are many brands of chargers and power banks out there, and while the experience you get may be similar across the board (yes, there are many chargers and power banks out there just as good as these), Anker goes above and beyond to bring you a package that’s just very high-quality…

You now have another option for saving a few bucks on a new MacBook. Apple just began selling its 12-inch ultra-thin laptop in refurbished condition. Prices currently range from $1,099 to $1,489 with free shipping. The entry-level model typically sells for $1,299 in new condition. It features a 2304 x 1440 resolution at 226 pixels per inch, a Force Touch trackpad and redesigned ‘butterfly’ keyboard. Apple refurbished items include a full one-year warranty, are eligible for AppleCare, and from what I’ve seen, generally come in great shape with little to no signs of use.

  • Refurbished 12-inch MacBook 1.1GHz Dual-core Intel Core M 256GB: $1,099
  • Refurbished 12-inch MacBook 1.3GHz Dual-core Intel Core M 256GB: $1,319
  • Refurbished 12-inch MacBook 1.2GHz Dual-core Intel Core M 512GB: $1,359
  • Refurbished 12-inch MacBook 1.3GHz Dual-core Intel Core M 512GB: $1,489

These prices are decent if you can’t wait for a deal to come around, but with some patience you should be able to get a new unit near or below Apple’s refurbished prices. For example, the high-end 512GB model is currently on sale for just $1,289.99 (Reg. $1,599) and we’ve seen the 256GB model drop as low as $950 (Reg. $1,299). expand full story

Every year, Apple puts together a beautiful-looking holiday gift guide on Apple.com, packed with the latest iOS devices, Macs, and accessories people would love to receive as gifts. The hitch is that Apple’s prices are almost always full retail, with no discounting, so it’s easy to spend anywhere from $5 to $300 more per item than if you just shopped around.

This year, 9to5Toys and 9to5Mac have done the bargain hunting for you. We’ve found savings on virtually every item on Apple’s holiday shopping list, which this year is organized into 6 sections: Gaming, Photography, Music, Fitness, Learning and Travel. Using the links below, you can save up to $350 on a new 12″ MacBook, between $20 and $80 on many third-party accessories, and up to $130 on a pair of Beats headphones

The absolute last place you want to shop for iPhone, iPad, and Mac deals this Black Friday is the Apple Store. Historically, Apple’s participation in the biggest shopping day of the year has been limited to offering super modest (borderline insulting) discounts or free iTunes Gift Cards. We suspect this year won’t be any different.

On the flip side, other major retailers including Best Buy, Target, and Staples are extending huge discounts to many of Apple’s flagship products. To help you plan your holiday shopping, we’ve pored over every Black Friday ad available to bring you the very best upcoming Apple deals: expand full story
