Amazon offers the OtterBox Defender Series iPhone 6 case in black for $30.21 Prime shipped. Other colors are also on sale but aren’t priced as low as the all black version. As a pricing comparison, OtterBox charges $59.90 and most retailers are asking at least $50.
Features include:
- Robust, 3-layer protective case withstands drops, bumps and shock
- Built-in screen protector guards against scratches
- Port covers keep out dust and debris
- Belt-clip holster included that doubles as a kickstand for hand-free media viewing
Amazon reviewers rate it 3.2 out of 5 stars and iLounge gave it a B+ rating:
Defender ($60) uses a two-piece plastic shell surrounded by a rubber outer layer, with complete port and button protection, a built-in screen protector, and a holster. This new version has a thin clear plastic membrane covering the Touch ID sensor, and the Touch ID worked just fine in testing. Defender definitely feels like a substantial case — however, users may actually have a tough time figuring out how to get it off an iPhone 6. As in the Commuter, we experienced no drop in speakerphone performance even though the bottom microphone is inside a substantial recess. Unfortunately, there’s also a $10 increase in price from the all-black iPhone 5s version of the case.
With your savings you could buy our favorite iPhone 6 dock. It even works with the OtterBox Defender case.
