As per usual, this freebie is only available to those in the US and via the free Apple Store iPhone app. Some users outside the US have reported that by disabling location data, the freebie comes available.

How to redeem the freebie:
-open Apple Store app for iPhone
-tap on ‘Stores’ on the bottom horizontal menu bar
-scroll down past the store info to the area that says ‘start something new’
-swipe that image to the left
-tap on the Waterlogue whale icon
-tap on the ‘download now for free’ green banner at the bottom
