The new HyperX Cloud II gaming headset with built-in virtual 7.1 surround + free 16GB USB flash drive

HyperX, the gaming peripheral/accessory division of Kingston, has officially announced its second generation Cloud II headset today. Along with all of the features of the original HyperX Clouds, this time around the company has built-in a specially designed DSP based sound card with 7.1 virtual surround sound.

The Cloud II headset system carries 53mm drivers (15Hz–25,000 Hz frequency response) and a dedicated USB sound card “that amplifies audio and voice for an optimal Hi-Fi gaming experience.”  You are getting independent audio controls including volume and simple on/off toggle switches for enabling 7.1 and muting the condenser mic. HyperX has had HyperX Cloud II TeamSpeak certified and optimized for Skype with noise cancellation, auto gain control and echo cancellation for better audio quality. They are compatible with Mac and PC as well Xbox One (“controller adapter required”) and PS4.

The 100% memory foam padded Hyper X Cloud II gaming headset comes in two red and gun metal variations with a third pink version coming soon. They are currently available on Amazon for $99.99 shipped with a free HyperX FURY 16 GB USB Drive until tonight “at 11:59 p.m. Pacific time on February 9, 2015.” The previous generation models, which sit with a 4.6/5 star rating from over 800 Amazon customers are available for $79.99 shipped right now (within $10 of Black Friday).

HyperX is also announcing the new HyperX FURY Pro Gaming Mouse Pad today as well. Essentially an updated version of its already available Skyn Pad, it will be available in 4 sizes and made of “cloth material and soft padding”. It does not appear to be available just yet.

Shipping now, HyperX Cloud II features a newly designed USB sound card audio control box featuring 7.1 virtual surround sound, in addition to the great features and benefits of the previous award-winning HyperX Cloud headset.
