Amazon announces unlimited Cloud Drive storage for all of your photos and files

Amazon has revamped its Cloud Drive offerings to include two new unlimited plans. You can now choose between unlimited photo storage for $11.99 per year or unlimited everything storage for $59.99 per year. Those who choose to go with the photo plan will also be allotted an additional 5GB of unrestricted storage. That means you can store as many photos as you’d like on Amazon’s cloud plus 5GB of videos, documents, and other piece of your digital life.

For comparison sake, here are the most popular plans Amazon previously offered: 5GB for free, 20GB for $10 per year, and 50GB for $25 per year. There’s no longer a completely free tier, but Amazon is offering a free 3-month trial of either service.

If you’re a frequent Amazon shopper and are considering the Unlimited Photos plan, then you’d probably be better off signing up for Prime ($99 per year). It includes free unlimited photo storage along with a host of other benefits like free 2-day shipping and Prime Instant Video.
