Bartesian uses a familiar Keurig-like design to deliver cocktails on demand

With all of the success that Keurig has enjoyed in recent years, it’s no surprise that various projects have attempted to recreate the magic of that quick cup of coffee. A unique Kickstarter campaign plans to make its own bartender version of this kitchen mainstay. The Bartesian is an automatic cocktail machine that uses the familiar capsule system to mix custom drinks at the push of a button.

Much like Keurig’s design, Bartesian has a pop-up lid that houses a user selected capsule full of ingredients while four tanks provide storage for vodka, rum, gin and tequila. After inserting the capsule, a few presses of a button selects the strength of your drink and Bartesian does the rest. The Kickstarter campaign includes six drink options: Margarita, Sex on the Beach, Cosmopolitan, Bartesian Breeze, Uptown Rocks and Zest Martini.

Bartesian’s capsule system is built from recyclable materials. It only contains “real, premium ingredients” and juice concentrates, amongst other liquid ingredients. No powders or corn-syrups are included in these capsules. The actual Bartesian system is a plastic textured finish with pops of stainless steel accents. It looks like a prototype and we’d guess that if the system was fully funded it would have a more polished look. The glass reservoirs holding the different sprits is a nice touch to the design. A cocktail shaker is included to finish off any drinks in need of a little extra mixing.

With 29 days to go, Bartesian has raised just over 18% of its $100,000 goal. An early bird pledge of $249 will deliver a Bartesian system and 12 capsules, although only 28 pledges remain to secure one of those. After that, the prices jumps up to $299.
