Yirego’s Drumi powerless washing machine gives urbanites and outdoorsmen a unique alternative

Washing your clothes is a chore. Especially, if you don’t have your own laundry setup at home or live in a small apartment. Sure there are some compact traditional washer and dryers, but ultimately they still require space and energy that some aren’t willing to compromise for.

Enter Yirego’s Drumi. The no-electricity washing machine that is compact, made of recyclable materials and lets you skip the public laundromats. Which is good news, because you never know what has been in the machine before you.

The Drumi has a modern look and is much more attractive than comparable products on the market. It’s a portable design that is not much larger than a small trash can. The washing drum itself is wrapped in a plastic outer shell, made from recyclable materials. Drumi’s white and green color scheme are simple, it has a clear top for monitoring the drum during use and a pedal near the base to provide power to the system.

After putting your clothes in the drum, detergant and softener is added into the metal enclosure before the windowed lid is closed. From there, you simply have to pump the pedal for roughly five minutes to complete a load of laundry. After a wash is complete, the dirty water is released out of the bottom of the machine. Yirego recommends carrying out the whole washing process in the shower, actually while you’re bathing yourself. Hey, if you’re a multi-tasker, there is some merit to this.

Drumi can act as a hamper throughout the week, as well. When you’re ready to wash your clothes, simply carry it to your shower or tub, put in the soap and get started. Yirego admits that Drumi is best-suited for smaller items like underwear or t-shirts, for minimalists, outdoorsmen or urbanites, this is a unique option to solve a larger problem. With Yirego, traditional laundry solutions are a thing of the past.

Yirego’s Drumi is currently in the pre-order stage, with a special introductory price of $129. The initial response has been so large that orders are currently not expected to ship until next year.
