Philips is expanding its Hue family of connected lighting products with the new Lightstrip Plus. This two meter parade of LEDs can produce millions of colors, which is nothing new for Hue products, but it also glows in different shades of white light — a huge feature its predecessor lacked. Philips also made it possible for you to extend these lightstrips to a length of up to 10-meters. Continue on for more launch details and a promo video:
Not only can you connect the strips together to really light up a room, but you can also cut them so you can get a perfectly clean look. The flexible strip is meant to offer a straightforward install thanks to its adhesive backing.
…place along the bottom of a hallway choosing a beautiful shade of white light to create a sense of spaciousness; run along coving high up the walls of a room to wash the entire space with light instantly transforming its look and feel; or line along shelves and cabinets to add a stylish touch of ambience to match a mood or moment.
The addition of tunable white colors and their ability to be extended make the new Lightstrip Plus a stronger candidate to replace your old school lighting. These new lights are significantly more powerful than the previous generation, with 1600 lumen of power. But just like other Philips Hue products, these new strips aren’t going to come cheap. The two meter Lightstrip Plus with power adapter is $89.95, while the one meter extension strip checks in at $29.95. Both variants are slated to launch next month. Don’t forget you’ll need a Philips Hue bridge to run these new lights.
