What Watch uses Bluetooth connectivity to tab the memorable moments of your life

It seems like everyone has a wearable these days. Apple Watch is a favorite amongst fanboys and Fitbit appears set for a huge holiday season, with Black Friday deals throughout many of our ad leaks. But what about those that would prefer a more classic look as opposed to the techie flavorings that are so popular right now?

What Watch out of Switzerland has an answer to that question. Its Bluetooth-connected watches are coming to the United States and are worth a look. With classic and modern stylings, plus iPhone/Android connectivity, these new timepieces are set to make a splash.

This isn’t your typical smartwatch – there aren’t a lot of bells and whistles here for fitness tracking, notifications or the like. Aside from having a classic watch face and design, there is a bright red button on the side of each watch. This is where the Bluetooth connectivity comes in. Each press of that button marks a time in the companion app. The idea is that you’ll use this to mark significant moments in your life and go back later (in the day presumably) and journal about the event. Think Day One meets Timex.

Those dots behind the hands on the watch denote the number of moments that you’ve had in a given month. The markings stay full until that month comes around again, reminding you throughout the year of when a month was particularly notable. Any time, you can open the app and look back on the day, month or year that was and attach pictures or descriptions to each moment.

Now, for the ultra techie, this might not be so interesting. But in a copy-cat world of each company trying one-up the next, What Watch’s timepieces are a nice change of pace. It uses an e-ink display, has a swiss movement for keeping “precise” time plus it utilizes two separate batteries for digital and analog functions.

What Watch currently offers four different styles: classic ($299), radar ($249), modern ($169) and pocket ($349). Each of which uses a unique design to fit individual preferences. There is also a full line of accessories with bands and straps in different colors of leather. The entire line of products is now available for purchase in the United States.

In the market for a new watch but don’t need Bluetooth connectivity? We are big fans of the Timex Weekender. With a $20-$60 price tag, it’s pretty affordable as well.
