Update (1/15 9:30pm): It appears that the promotion has gone live early, you can now grab a 12-month Amazon Prime subscription for $73 (Reg. $99) here.

In celebration of its two awards for Mozart in the Jungle at the Golden Globes, Amazon is discounting its Prime 2-day shipping service down to $73 starting tonight at 9PM PST or Midnight EST. As many of you know, Amazon’s popular membership program typically goes for $99 for a 12-month subscription. The 27% discount is one of the strongest promotions that we’ve seen from the online retailer. The tricky part? Only new customers are eligible for this promotion.
