Roku’s brand new lineup of streaming boxes feature 4K/HDR support and start at just $30

Today, Roku announced a series of brand new streaming boxes to replace its current lineup. Highlighting the new arrivals is the $30 Roku Express box. Billed as the company’s tiniest to date, the Express replaces the Roku 1 while undercutting most of its competitors in the process including Google’s Chromecast and Amazon’s Fire TV Stick.

More details below:

While you won’t be getting the 4K and HDR video the new Roku Premiere/+ and Roku Ultra models support, you can expect HDMI connectivity at full 1080p along with the usual access to over 2,500 streaming channels, plus thousands of movies and TV shows. There is also a Roku Express+ model which will run you an extra $10 and adds the ability to connect with older displays via composite cables.

The higher end models start at $79.99 and offer 4K streaming up to 60 fps plus HDR support on the $99.99 Premiere+ and Ultra boxes. At $130 and sitting atop Roku’s latest range of streamers, the Ultra adds a USB port for “local playback”, Dolby Digital Plus, voice search and the ability to “finds remotes stuck in the couch with the touch of a button on the player.”

The five new boxes, along with its already available Roku Streaming Stick now make up the company’s current lineup. It appears as though the new boxes will hit store shelves some time in October. However, we are already starting to see pre-orders go live on Best Buy and Walmart for all of the new models. Head below for more details:
