Shinola unveils new limited edition Runwell Turntable that’s made by hand in Detroit

Shinola is known for making some of the most beautiful timepieces in America today. Based out of Detroit, Michigan, the brand is adding audio to its portfolio of expertly crafted goods. The Runwell Turntable is being made with the help of industry veteran VPI. Shinola is only planning on releasing 500 of these beauties and each model is handcrafted with a natural wood or all black finish.

Runwell uses a friction-free metal tonearm that is designed for the smoothest playback possible. A built-in pre-amp receives signals from the Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge, which is known for its top-grade quality. Each of the aluminum components are CNC’d from a solid block of metal and then pieced together for a custom fit-and-finish. Shinola’s new Runwell Turntable is available for purchase today with a $2,500 price tag. If you’re looking for a more cost-effective alternative, we recommend this Audio-Technica turntable that’s currently marked down to $79 (Reg. $99) at Amazon.

Shinola’s first audio product is The Runwell Turntable, designed inside and out for the discriminating audiophile and easy to use by any music enthusiast. Produced in a limited run of 500 units. Every component and element of the Shinola Runwell Turntable was carefully sourced from manufacturers across the globe, then built at our new Shinola Audio factory within our flagship Detroit store. The Runwell Turntable is assembled in full view of the public, at our flagship store in Detroit.
