Hasbro jumps into STEM Toys with its upcoming Proto Max iOS and Android-controlled dog

Hasbro is jumping on the STEM train with a new robotic dog that encourages children to learn about coding. With iOS and Android-connectivity, Proto Max is designed to be used in tandem with our favorite devices. The $120 toy is customizable in a variety of ways but the main focus is for kids to alter its behavior and ability to carry out different tasks.

There are 10 different sensors that allow kids to interact with the dog and trigger different behaviors. That includes the tail, nose and ears alongside two capacitive touch sensors on the back. Proto will follow you around, play games and even learn your preferences over time. Working within the smartphone app lets users code different behaviors through building block-style activities. Hasbro is expected to offer up further details at the New York Toy Fair this weekend.
