Microsoft unveils the new Tech Series Xbox One Wireless Controllers with laser-etched graphics and rubberized grips

Ahead of the release of Project Scorpio – the upcoming console with 6 teraflops of graphical power – Microsoft has now unveiled the new Xbox One Tech Series Wireless Controllers. The first of which, dubbed the Recon Tech Special Edition, features a design heavily inspired by military technology and sci-fi aesthetics.

It features all of the updates Microsoft last brought to its wireless controllers including extended Bluetooth range, Windows 10 compatibility and custom button mapping via the Xbox Accessories App, along with a few new features:

We are getting a laser-etched finish on the front side along with futuristic gold accents and decals. It sounds as though Microsoft has also made some enhancements to the back-side of the controller as well with what it calls a “textured diamond rubberized grip for added control and comfort.”

The Xbox Wireless Controller Recon Tech Special Edition is up for pre-order starting now for $69.99 with an April 25th release date.

Equip yourself with the Xbox Wireless Controller – Recon Tech Special Edition, featuring a sleek, dark grey military design and diamond grip for enhanced comfort. Enjoy custom button mapping and up to twice the wireless range. Plug in any compatible headset with the 3.5mm stereo headset jack. And with Bluetooth® technology, play your favorite games on Windows 10 PCs and tablets.
