Top Caribbean Destinations For Your Next Vacation

There is something about the Caribbean that keeps people coming back for more. Not too sure if it’s because the entire lifestyle culture is centered around vacations and tourism, or because it’s always sunny and warm. Each island has its own unique food and culture even though all its beaches may be look the same – pristine see-through water. Known for its beauty, the Caribbean is filled with colorful homes, buildings, people, and landscapes.

Being that there are roughly 35 countries that complete the Caribbean, it can be hard to decide which one to visit first. Some are relatively easier and more affordable to get to. Others may be difficult, due to the size of the island. But we know after countless mundane work weeks and grey skies, the last thing you may want to do is spend hours on the computer sorting through 35 Caribbean countries for a vacation – though it may bring some excitement to your day.

Now it’s time to dust off your passport (make sure it’s not expired) and if you don’t have one, send in that application! Because after reading this, you will want to get on the next flight out. If you’re not too familiar, here are 4 suggested Caribbean destinations you should visit for your next vacation:

The Bahamas

The Bahamas is probably everyone’s first Caribbean island. Most likely because it’s one of the closest island to the United States – only 50 miles off the coast of Florida! The Bahamas is one of the easiest to travel to, especially since there are multiple cruise lines that go there daily. Groupon provides a great cruise for two to the Bahamas leaving from West Palm Beach, Florida from $199. One of the most popular places to visit in the Bahamas is Nassau, its capital. There are plenty of activities such as boating, diving, ecotourism, shopping, and of course the beach – but that’s a given.

Havana, Cuba

Now that traveling to Cuba is easier than ever, it is becoming one of the most popular Caribbean travel destinations. More so for the culture that’s been missed other than its beaches. It’s not your typical vacation filled with all-inclusive spectaculars, but it will be one of the most interesting and well spent. Havana, Cuba is nothing less than a beautiful historical city that you deserve to experience. When here, you will most likely be spending your time sight seeing and shopping since it has been a socialist republic since 1959. Most of the major US airlines fly to Cuba for a reasonable price, but you will have to obtain a visa. Make sure to check out Trip Advisor for some up to date options and selections when looking to visit!

Negril, Jamaica

Home to the Seven Mile Beach (yes, that is quite long) and Ricks Cafe. Negril is one of Jamaica’s top vacation spots for foreigners and locals! From the all-inclusive resorts to numerous excursions there is always something to do. You may even have to come back a second time to make sure you complete everything on your list. A very popular destination in Negril is Ricks Cafe. It’s a famous bar located on the water sitting high on a rocky landscape. As you enjoy your daiquiris and Jamaican food, you’re able to cliff jump into the translucent ocean water to add some thrill and excitement into your life. Check Travel Advisor or Expedia for some great options for all-inclusive resorts. If you’re feeling more adventurous, book an Airbnb and keep it simple. You’ll still have a magnificent time.

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

In recent years, the Dominican Republic has been getting major attention and kudos for it’s beautiful vacations. Next to Negril, Jamaica, Punta Cana has some of the best all-inclusive resorts. There is so much to do, from golf, nightlife, water sports, and the beach. Most of the resorts cater to families, but they’re also some great ones for couples. Groupon offers many different deals (some including airfare, depending on location) for affordable options. Make sure you make time for a Zip-line excursion, so you can experience its beautiful mountains!

No matter where you may chose to visit, every island will be spectacular. And if you’re already well traveled, it’s time to spread your wings and see what else is out there. Some great sites to check out for Caribbean travel deals are Groupon, Apple Vacations, Expedia, and Trip Advisor. There are also some great guides for things to do while visiting these countries.
