Belkin debuts new iPad/MacBook backpacks & messenger bags starting at just $40

Belkin makes a wide range of affordable electronics and accessories from smart home gear to iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch add-ons. But it also has quite an extensive lineup of bags, carriers, briefcases and more to lug all of it around in. Everything from MacBook sleeves to messenger bags, Belkin has had its hand in the travel companion business for a while. Adding to its wide selection of accessories today, the company is introducing a pair of new all-in-one options known as the Classic Pro and Active Pro models…

While we tend to cover some of the more premium and expensive Apple accessories, like the fantastic Pad & Quill bags, Belkin strikes a happy medium here with its new offerings.

Starting at just $39.99, these aren’t the kinds of accessories that are going to reach very deep into your pocket. In addition to the solid ratings Belkin’s other carriers have received, the new bags are a smart and much more budget conscious choice.

First up, let’s take a look at the Classic Pro. Just like the Active model, it will come in two variations including a backpack option and a messenger-style you can throw over your shoulder. You can expect dedicated protection and pockets for your laptop and tablet as well as an accordion-style opening for easy access and internal storage for smaller items.

There are adjustable mesh padded shoulder straps, a padded back panel, some convenient external pockets and a luggage strap. All of today’s new options are compatible with pretty much every iPad, MacBook and Android device out there up to 15.6-inches.

As you likely expected, the Active line is a little bit more rugged, slightly more expensive and has some special features to support a more adventurous lifestyle. Again, we are getting a backpack-style option and a messenger bag but with a water-resistant coating along the base, reflective strips for low light situations and a loop for your bike light. Belkin also points out that this model will stand up-right without any additional support and features what it refers to as hidden high-security pocket.

While they might not be the most premium bags out there, the price is certainly right. The Classic Pro Backpack and Messenger bag are available now for $39.99 and the Active Pro styles are both $49.99.

But keep in mind, if you’re just looking for something quick and super inexpensive, Belkin has loads of carrier options starting at $10 or so on Amazon.
