InkCase i7 Plus combines the iPhone and Kindle experience into one easy device

If you carry around an iPhone 7 Plus and Kindle everywhere you go, you might be wondering if there was a better way. Oaxis has come out with their original InkCase i6 a while back, that basically combined the two devices into one. This version seems to have mixed reviews on Amazon.

The company has continued its efforts with the InkCase i7, which is really similar to the iPhone 6 and 6s compatible InkCase i6, but with a larger structure to accommodate the iPhone 7’s updated camera. Otherwise, it maintains the 4.3-inch display, ePub and TXT eBook support, notification display, and logo as seen on the original. Now, the company is holding a Kickstarter campaign for its iPhone 7 Plus model of the case.

Those who are familiar with E Ink displays are aware that it’s pretty useful when it comes to low-refresh-rate tasks like eBooks or digital signs, but not as much for things that involve colors and moving images.

The InkCase i7 Plus has a large 5.2-inch E Ink screen that allows you to display photos, to-do lists, read eBooks, news articles and will even help you take selfies. It comes equipped with an built-in battery, storage space, Bluetooth connectivity and is supposedly drop-proof and waterproof.

Though this InkCase is rather large in size, it certainly is not a battery pack. It also is not connected directly to the device, rather it uses Bluetooth to view phone data, and charges with a nice magnetic cable.

Oaxis claims that its InkCase delivers beautiful crystal sharp text for a crisp reading experience. It has a solid balance of being a pocket-sized accessory that is also suitable to replace a Kindle. If you already have a large phone, you may as well use it as your reading device too.

Some extra features include having a custom photo wallpaper that can be changed directly from the InkCase. The iOS app allows you to edit and send any photo from your iPhone and beam it to the case wirelessly. Also, you can now use the better camera for perfect selfies by taking advantage of your new second screen.

The anti-glare screen absorbs the sun rays and reduces reflections so you can read a book outdoors without the eye strain. In addition, included is a 9H hardness protective coating that’s applied on the E Ink screen to enhance durability.

InkCase i7 Plus is available for pre-order at $89 with expected delivery this August.
