Vintage Electric’s Café eBike flaunts 1950’s style with modern-day tech

There’s something extremely satisfying about merging the past designs with modern-day functionality. Vintage Electric’s new Café eBike is a fantastic example of this sentiment, which perfectly embodies the 1950’s aesthetic, thanks to its a bright red color scheme, leather accenting and cream-colored tires.

Vintage Electric has been in the eBike game for some time now, having released a variety of rides all carrying that classic, nostalgia-inducing design. The company’s latest addition to the lineup certainly doesn’t skimp out on retro-aesthetics and holds up on its end of features and functionally as well.

Flaunting its classically-shaped handlebars, vintage fenders and leather accents, the Café eBike is based around a stylishly-curved frame. Practically every element helps push its retro design, especially its battery which rests between the bike’s struts. Most impressively, the overall design does a fantastic job at hiding the motor and other accessories, meaning at first glance you’d probably have a hard time guessing that Café was an eBike.

Now aside from the classic 50’s design, the Café eBike holds its own in the feature department as well. With a 750w torque sensing drivetrain, the bicycle offers five different levels of pedal assist to suit one’s various riding styles. On the handlebars you’ll find a small LED display which allows you to alter your assist settings, but also acts as a speedometer and odometer.

The eBike’s drive system and tech are both powered by a battery housed within an aluminum outer shell. Based on which of the five pedal assist levels you prefer, you can expect a range between 28 and 60 miles. Vintage Electric’s Café maxes out at a top speed of 28 mph, meaning it’s as fast as it is stylish.

You’ll find the Café eBike is available in two different color schemes. The Golden Gate Red style features a bold design comprised of bright red trim with cream accenting. While on the other hand, the Skyline Bronze offers a darker take on the classic aesthetic with an elegant combination bronze and gold. Regardless of which color option you fancy, both are available in three different sizes to match any sized rider.

While it definitely looks like Vintage Electric has hit the mark in terms of both form and function, you’re going to have to shell out a decent amount of cash to get your hands on one. With a retail price of $3,995, there are definitely less-expensive eBikes on the market, but you’ll be hard pressed to find one with a similar level of nostalgic appeal and style.

The Café was dreamed up to be the sexiest bike on the path. Designed to move you as fast as possible while looking as good as possible.
