AOC’s latest 32-inch gaming monitor sports USB hubs, HDMI and more

This morning, AOC continued to expand its lineup of attractive (and affordable) monitors with the new 32-inch Agon Curved FreeSync Gaming Display. Officially priced at $429.99, the latest from AOC sports a number of features that are sure to attract the attention of gamers. That includes a 144Hz refresh rate, near frameless design and built-in USB charging.

We recently went hands-on with AOC’s 40-inch 4K monitor, which delivered solid performance at a budget price. Their newest release looks at a different subset of users, however. Head below for more details.

Coming in at 31.5-inches to be exact, the new AOC Agon Monitor is designed with gamers in mind, first and foremost. The anti-glare panel supports resolutions up to 2560 x 1440 and 16.7 million colors. Its 4ms response time could be called slow in comparison to some alternatives, but you’re not likely to be able to tell a difference at that speed. AOC is thankfully pushing the refresh rate to 144Hz, which should be good enough for most gamers.

AOC has done a nice job of covering users with inputs on this release. That includes dual HDMI and DisplayPort, as well as VGA if you’re still rocking a vintage source. Two USB 3.0 ports offer charging and data transfer, which can be particularly helpful for users that prefer a wired setup. Rounding out the list is a single audio input for the integrated 5W speakers and a headphone output.

The new Agon display is VESA 100 x 100mm compatible, so it can be easily mounted if you prefer a floating display. A wall mount is not included with purchase buy you can easily find a compatible one at Amazon.

AOC’s AG322QCX gaming monitor has a list price of $429.99 but MicroCenter is offering a special launch day discount at $399.99. That’s pretty much the going rate for a display with this feature set. If you’re after an alternative that’s more cost-effective, there are a number of options available at Amazon for 50% less. You might miss out on some features along the way, which is a trade-off you’ll have to weigh in this scenario.

AOC Unveils New Curved AGON QHD Gaming Monitor with AMD FreeSync

Fremont, Calif. – September 20, 2017 – AOC, a worldwide leader in monitor display technology, today announces the newest member of the Agon monitor collection, the premium line of AOC gaming monitors. The AG322QCX is a curved 32-inch, QHD gaming monitor with a refresh rate of 144Hz, 4ms response time and AMD FreeSync technology. This monitor is made for enthusiast and competitive esports gamers, like AOC partner, Team Liquid, allowing them to race through games without stutter, screen tearing and motion blur. The AG322QCX is available at Microcenter for $429.99 MSRP.

The 32-inch monitor features a 2560×1440 QHD screen with a 1800R curve. The curved VA panel offers vibrant colors for a more exciting and immersive visual experience to be enjoyed while gaming. The AG322QCX’s curve conforms to the way the eye sees and helps reduce eye fatigue.

Team Liquid, winners of The International Dota 2 Tournament, use AOC monitors to prepare for competitions, as they compete at the highest level of esports.

“My Agon monitor is essential to me during practice and tournament play,” said Team Liquid Dota 2 TI7 Champion, Lasse “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen. “With Dota 2 matches lasting anywhere from thirty minutes to two-and-a-half hours, using monitors with technologies that reduce eye fatigue are really important.”

The new Agon monitor also packs in additional AOC monitor technologies such as Shadow Control, AOC’s FlickerFree technology and LowBlue Mode. With AOC’s Shadow Control, gamers can adjust shadow levels in the on-screen display menu to increase contrast for better dark areas without affecting the rest of the screen. Eye comfort is one of the most important considerations for outlasting the competition, and since the Agon displays are designed specifically for the competitive gamer, they feature eye-protecting AOC Flicker-Free Technology to reduce eye strain, discomfort, and fatigue during long gaming sessions. The AG322QCX goes even further with its Low Blue Light mode, reducing adverse short wavelength blue light without sacrificing color quality.

The display features AMD FreeSync technology to provide the smoothest, fastest and most visually stunning gaming experience. FreeSync synchronizes the display’s refresh rates to the GPU in gamers’ AMD-powered PCs to eliminate screen-tearing and minimize display stutter and input lag. This results in fluid and responsive gameplay, with objects appearing sharper, scenes appearing instantly and more vibrant in visual quality than on other monitors. AMD FreeSync delivers a smooth and fast gaming experience with a serious competitive edge.
