Last month Apple unveiled the newest version of its Apple TV, adding 4K HDR capabilities and the new A10X Fusion chip. Whether you opted for the latest model or the $149 4th generation, you’re likely looking towards accessories at this point.

There are a number of ways to improve your Apple TV 4K experience with a few add-ons. One of which is a mount that is perfect for keeping those pesky cables out of sight and mind. These low-cost solutions attach your new streaming media player directly to the back of your TV in most cases. Head below for our top picks along with a few other must-have Apple TV 4K accessories.

While an Apple TV mount is an easy buy, there are actually a wide range of accessories on the market for the popular streaming media player. That includes Siri Remote cases and charging solutions, Bluetooth keyboards and a number of other add-ons. I’m usually quick to reach for the latest Apple accessory but I was slow to realize the breadth of this product category.

TotalMount Apple TV Mount: $18

TotalMount is one of the most trusted names out there when it comes to securely attaching your Apple TV. In fact, this is the very mount that Apple sells in its retail stores (albeit for $12 more). It is compatible with the latest 4K model along with generations two through four. TotalMount includes a special adhesive system and screw-mounts, to meet nearly any home theater setup.

As well, it has an open-air design to accomodate Apple’s new ventilation system on the 4K model. You can see in the picture above how this mount enables users to stick this set-top box right up in the corner of a TV. This keeps remote signals flowing strong without any interference. It’s an Amazon favorite as well, with over 200 reviewers leaving a 4.5/5 star rating.

Other Apple TV 4K Mounts include:

  • ReliaMount: $13
  • iDLEHANDS Mount: $14
  • H-Squared tvTray: $50
  • TV Top Shelf-Small Size 6-inch: $20

6-ft. HDMI 2.0 Cable w/ 4K, Ethernet and HDR support: $12

If you’re opting for the latest Apple TV, you’ll want to be sure that you have a 4K-compatible HDMI cable around. Apple offers support for HDMI 2.0a, which is pretty easy to find on Amazon for around $10. We like the braided cables, like one the featured above for extra strength and durability but the in-house AmazonBasics model will also do the job.

SteelSeries Nimbus Wireless Gaming Controller: $44

There are a handful of MFi-certified gaming controllers out there on the market today. SteelSeries’ Nimbus reigns supreme as the best available. Features include a console-style layout, pressure sensitive buttons and a Lightning port for recharging. I’ve been using this for Minecraft for awhile now, and it has a very similar feel to Microsoft’s stock Xbox One controller.

TotalMount Apple TV Remote Holder: $16

Back to TotalMounts, it recently came out with a new Apple TV Remote Holder that also charges your handheld with an integrated Lightning connector. Simply connect it to your TV’s USB port and charge as needed. It is compatible with both versions of the Siri remote. Oh, and it’s helpful for knowing which way is up.

Other Apple TV Remote Charging Solutions:

  • TwelveSouth HiRise 2 Deluxe: $60
  • Elago Aluminum Lightning Charging Stand: $25
  • Apple Lightning Dock: $44
  • Anker 3-foot Lightning Cable: $6

Apple AirPods: $159

Really, any of Apple’s W1-enabled headphones will fit the bill. Whether you have a sleeping spouse or child, making use of the Apple TV’s headphone functionality is a perfect way to enjoy your content in peace. If you prefer on/over-ear headphones, check out these Beats.

Elago R1 Intelli Case for Siri Remote: $8

While I do like the Siri Remote, it can be tough on my hands to use for an extended period of time. Adding a simple case or sleeve like this one from Elago can ease those struggles. For $8, you’ll get a durable silicone case, built-in lanyard and sleek magnets that allow it to stick on just about any metal surface. It’s an Amazon favorite with over 640 users leaving a 4.6/5 star rating.

Logitech K480 Bluetooth Keyboard: $27

Apple allows for the use of Bluetooth keyboards with its streaming media player. The Logitech K480 is a 9to5 favorite, with its integrated tray for holding other devices and the ability to connect to other smartphones or tablets as well. Rated 4.1/5 stars.
