Hyperkin’s Pupper Joy-Con grip for Switch is basically the cutest thing ever

If you have a Nintendo Switch, that means you have the Joy-Con grip. And, if you’re anything like me, you’ve thought that the grip resembles a puppy, at least somewhat. Well, we’re not alone, and Hyperkin agrees. With a $20 price point and built-in rechargeable battery, the Pupper Joy-Con grip from Hyperkin is a fantastic deal, especially when you consider the official Nintendo Joy-Con controller with a battery is $30

The Nintendo Switch is an awesome portable gaming system. I love playing it, but sometimes, I want to treat it like an actual console and play with a real controller. Nintendo includes a Joy-Con grip in the box with the Switch, and that’s fine and dandy, but it doesn’t charge the Joy-Cons. So, eventually, the remotes will have to either go back on the Switch or into a docking station to charge.

Well, that is, unless you buy Nintendo’s $30 Joy-Con charging grip. But, then you’re only changing from the included, free grip to a $30 one that charges. There are no real external differences besides the charging port, and really it’s not that adorable. At least, not as adorable as the Pupper grip

Hyperkin is launching the Pupper Joy-Con grip on December 21st for $20 on Amazon. The grip includes a rechargeable battery and Type-C connector to keep it powered. This means you can enjoy hours upon hours of gaming on the couch without ever running out of power in your Joy-Cons.

The one thing I really didn’t like about the regular Joy-Con grip was the ergonomics of it. it was too skinny and holding it is not comfortable at all to me. The Pupper grip actually changes the dynamics of the Joy-Cons slightly, angling them outward. This means that there’s a smaller portion of plastic at the top and a larger one at the bottom. This not only makes the grip easier to hold, but also makes the “face” of the controller perfect for transforming into a puppy, and Hyperkin did just that.

Included in the package you’ll find 3 “pupper” stickers to convert your boring old Joy-Con grip into a super cute puppy face. If you’d rather rock the grip without the stickers, that’s completely doable too, but I’m not sure why anyone would use it that way.

Pre-orders are not yet open for the Pupper grip from Hyperkin, but with a launch date of December 21st and price of $20, I’m sure they’ll open soon enough. Until then, Amazon has a “notify me” button that you can use to make sure you know when the Pupper grip from Hyperkin is available.
