If you’ve ever dreamed of cruising through the water and getting up close and personal with undersea life, then the AquaJet H2 Water Scooter may be the perfect addition to your next sea-bound vacation. With a design mimicking manta rays, the new underwater vehicle outputs 40 pounds of thrust and allows you to explore depths of 60 feet below the surface.

The past few years have brought a variety of wacky, practical and unique land-based vehicles. Water-bound transports haven’t been as big on the other hand, meaning divers, swimmers and other beach-goers haven’t been able to share in the fun. Now, a new Indiegogo campaign looks to send some love into the ocean’s depths.

Deemed the AquaJet H2, this new water scooter is one of the first commercial vehicles that brings enhanced underwater movement to just about anyone. Its design is modeled around the manta ray, which makes it easier to hold onto as well as to cutting down on drag. And to help you get the perfect shot while soaking up the underwater scenery, the AquaJet H2 also packs a front-stationed GoPro mount for first-person footage of your adventures.

The recreational underwater vehicle boasts speeds of up to 5.6mph. While you may not be the fastest thing out in the water, it certainly makes exploring the depths a little more effortless. AquaJet outputs 40-lbs of thrust as well, meaning it has no issues carrying up to 2 passengers.

One limitation with the water scooter is that the H2 can only hit maximum depths of 60 feet. In reality this doesn’t like a noteworthy hinderance, as that’s most likely deeper than most could hold their breath for anyway.

For ocean-lovers wanting to get more out of their underwater experiences, the AquaJet H2 will run you a pretty hefty $900. Its campaign still has some ways to go before securing its necessary funding, but assuming all goes well, units should be shipping sometime later in 2018.

While the AquaJet H2 launches at a high price point that will scare off many, the water scooter seems to offer a unique experience as far as what undersea vehicles can offer. As someone who’s gotten a huge kick out of scuba diving in the past, I’d love to get my hands on the AquaJet and see what it can do.
