Node is a…unique…take on charging multiple Apple devices at once

Charging Apple accessories and phones can sometimes be cumbersome. Whether you have an iPad Pencil that you hate leaving plugged into your device like a lollipop, or it’s remembering to charge your Magic Mouse with its belly button. carrying tons of cables can be annoying. Node is a new cable that can potentially change that. Read on for more information.

Node is a multi-charger with Apple’s Lightning connector. There are two male and two female ports on this unique charger. That means, with one Lightning cable, you can have two regular plugs to charge a keyboard, mouse, iPhone, or similar, and then another port that can charge your Apple Pencil.

This is super convenient, although odd. I never keep the Apple Pencil charging adapter with me, honestly. I have an Apple Pencil dock on my desk to charge it or I use my iPad, but there have been times that I wanted to charge both my iPad and my Apple Pencil, and without that adapter or dock, you’re toast.

Node gives you the ability to use one Lightning cable to charge three things, and it’s glorious. But, at the same time, it’s also really, really odd.

At $20, Node is not that expensive, but it also doesn’t seem to have MFi certification from the information that we can find. So, do note that if you plan to pick it up. Node is literally just an adapter that takes a single Lightning input and gives two regular outputs with the ability to use a third plug to charge your Apple Pencil. There’s nothing fancy here, no built-in cables, nothing.

I do wonder what type of power that Node can handle, however. Obviously it could easily charge an Apple Pencil, that doesn’t take much power. But, start plugging up multiple devices, like say, two iPhones, or an iPhone and an iPad like shown in the pictures, and what happens then?

Most multi-device charges have large inverters so that way they can power numerous things at once. Node literally uses a single Lightning cable as its source of power, so how much power can it truly provide? We really aren’t sure.
