It’s Battlefield V day! Call of Duty Black Ops 4 was just announced last week and now it’s time for this year’s Battlefield. Operations are back, there’s both co-op and single player campaigns, and more. Let’s dive into what looks to be one of the most fun games of the year.
During the announcement today, I was taken back by just about everything discussed. My favorite I’ll go ahead and get out of the way: NO MORE PREMIUM PASSES! That’s right, no more missing out because you didn’t buy the expansion and a friend did. No more buying maps. No more buying anything not included in the base game.
Battlefield is giving all content to all players and holding back nothing. This is really something we’ve been waiting for years to come. There is also no pay to win in Battlefield V. Gone are the days of buying supply drops, loot crates, and other methods of advancing throughout the game and here are the days of actually playing to win.
Single player is also here in the game, as well as co-op and regular multiplayer. Battlefield claims this is the “most immersive game yet.” The gameplay trailer looks absolutely stunning and I can’t wait to go through the single-player campaign of this game.
The movement system is completely overhauled, as seen in the gameplay trailer, and terrain actually has full-on effects on gameplay. More on this after we play the game, however. Watching the character crawl backward as he fires his gun really gives a unique appearance to the game.
Operations make a return with the name Grand Operations and feature multiple game modes and multiple maps. This should make for several hours of fun with friends, as I really have enjoyed Operations in previous games.
The Company is a new place to customize your player, guns, and vehicles. This is basically where you’ll decide how your player looks, what loadouts to bring, attachments, and more.
I’m stoked for Battlefield V and will be pre-ordering it without a doubt. Thankfully, I don’t have to worry about me getting the Deluxe Edition and my friends not, as we’ll still have the same content to be able to enjoy with each other.
There’s so much more that goes into Battlefield V, but we’re going to have to wait until launch on October 19th. The game is available for pre-order now, and as a bonus, Battlefield 4 and Battlefield 1 both have free expansion packs available right now to celebrate the launch of Battlefield V.
