Leo is a new speaker that boasts contemporary design, 560W of power, AirPlay, more

When it comes to listening to audio, dedicated speakers are important. Sure, headphones exist, and your TV probably has decent built-in speakers, but for a proper listening experience, having a purpose-built set of drivers is a must. In those speakers, there are a number of technologies that we’ve come to expect. Google’s Home Max has Assistant built-in, while Apple’s HomePod has Siri, and Amazon has the Echo Plus with Alexa.

When it comes to smart speakers, that’s about it, along with Sonos, but there is no real new design here: a speaker is a speaker. In comes Leo from Constellation Audio, with beautiful design, multiple input sources, and a nice array of speakers, this could be the latest audio device to find its way into our homes.

Leo is a new style of music system that packs an amplifier, woofers, speakers, and smart features (Chromecast, AirPlay, etc) into a compact and beautifully designed box.

Speaker wise, Leo is a dual-channel system, with each side packing a 6.5-inch woofer, 2.5-inch midrange, and 0.75-inch tweeter. This gives Leo a dynamic sound that most similar systems just cannot achieve.

Leo packs 560-watts of power, sending 140-watts to each woofer, and 70-watts to each midrange speaker and tweeter. This is more than enough power so you can have high-quality audio, while still reaching high levels of volume, giving you room-filling sound with just a single speaker.

If one isn’t enough, one Leo can be paired with another for a stereo soundstage and a higher volume, all through wireless communication. This adds another dynamic to listening that will give you even higher-quality audio with just the two units.

Input wise, Leo sports the ability for ChromeCast Audio, AirPlay, Bluetooth, and RCA or Toslink Digital options. You’ll never run out of ways to send music or audio to your Leo, and it will always sound great.

There is also a MC/MM phono stage input, giving you the ability to plug in any turntable or cartridge system. This, combined with AirPlay and other features, means you can listen to any music, be it from this decade or times past.

Leo’s main controls are found on your smartphone, so you can do volume, input selection, play/pause/skip, and more from the palm of your hand, without worry of losing a remote.

This uniquely designed speaker system is set to be available in Q3/Q4 2018, while pricing has yet-to-be-announced. With fantastic contemporary styling, tweeters, midrange, and woofer speakers, AirPlay, and more, this is bound to be an accent piece of any modern smart home.
