Today Target becomes the first major retailer to unveil its Black Friday plans, detailing an ambitious Thanksgiving week filled with various perks for its shoppers. Like years past, Target will be offering free two-day delivery on “thousands of items with no minimum purchase or REDcard membership required.” It doesn’t stop there as the retailer plans on offering same-day delivery in some areas and thousands of gifts under $15. Target Black Friday shipping perks
As expected, Target will be offering aggressive shipping perks throughout Black Friday. This starts with free two-delivery nearly sitewide, along with the addition of an aggressive same-day shipping option via Shipt in 46 states.
Target’s growing Drive Up service will also be expanding to nearly 1,000 stores in November. This new perks allows shoppers to simply pull-up to existing brick and mortar locations and grab online orders. Orders placed via the free Target app will be eligible for this service. There’s no word yet on how or if Drive Up will work with limited promotions like doorbusters at this time.
The aforementioned free two-day shipping policy will begin on November 1st. This is a direct shot at Amazon’s Prime membership which makes shoppers pay a $119 annual fee for this perk. You can expect plenty of other retailers to follow suit as they try to standout from Amazon’s aggressive holiday pricing schemes.
Target Black Friday highlighted by under $15 gifts
Target is promising a focus on value this Black Friday with an expanded under $15 gift section. This news comes on the heels of the brand’s unveiling of a new redesigned toy department at many of its United States locations. Details are thin on what exactly the under $15 selection will bring, but Target promises 1,400 “new and exclusives gifts” that fit this criteria. These price-friendly offerings will be highlighted in-store by up to 30 displays at each retail location. Put this in the back of your head for easy stocking stuffers when you’re out doing any shopping.
