2015 MacBook Air Stories April 14, 2015

Yesterday we ran a deal for the biggest discount we had seen to date on any 2015 MacBook Air (it’s still alive, BTW). At that time we mentioned how most discounts on these models have been modest (about 5%). While that’s still true today, we have discovered that Adorama is sweetening these prices by throwing in some freebies and offering a mail-in rebate on AppleCare bundles.

Below you’ll find Adorama’s VIP Exclusive pricing. To be eligible for these discounts you’ll need to sign-up as an Adorama VIP. Registration is free right now and honestly has been since as far back as I can recall, but apparently it usually sells for $149. After registering you’ll be eligible for these 2015 MacBook Air prices:

The above listings are all standard configurations. Adorama also has a slew of custom configured MacBook Airs at a discount as well.

All of these deals include a free LG Electronics GP50NB40 Super-Multi External DVD Burner, which is an additional savings of $26.99.

Purchase AppleCare at the discounted rate of $174 (Reg. $249) at the same time as one of the aforementioned laptops and you’ll be able to save an additional $50 with this mail-in rebate.

If you’re looking for a deal on the Retina MacBook Pro, Retina iMac or any other Mac, I’d suggest starting at Apple’s Refurbished Online Store. expand full story

expiredApple 13-inch MacBook Air (newest version) 1.6GHz/4GB/128GB: $830 shipped (Reg. $999)

The latest batch of MacBook Air laptops were released a little over a month ago with Intel Broadwell processors and better graphics. Aside from some modest discounts, there haven’t been many meaningful price drops on these ultra-slim laptops. The first real discount brought the entry-level 13-inch model down to $899.99, but now that same model is available for even less:

6th Avenue Express (98.8% positive feedback from 34,324 buyers) via eBay Daily Deals offers the 13-inch MacBook Air (newest version) 1.6GHz/4GB/128GB (model MJVE2LL/A) for $829.99 with free shipping. That’s $169 below its regular price and easily the best price we’ve ever seen.

While the all-new 12-inch MacBook is gorgeous, the 11 and 13-inch MacBook Air laptops are still the best option for most people.

If you’re looking for a deal on the Retina MacBook Pro, Retina iMac or any other Mac, I’d suggest starting at Apple’s Refurbished Online Store.

expiredHere’s the first real discount for Apple’s 2015 MacBook Air lineup: 13″ 1.6GHz/4GB/128GB for $900 (Reg. $999)

Apple updated the MacBook Air lineup just last month. Since then there haven’t been any significant price drops, but that’s all about to change. This morning deal_frenzy_Closeout (98.6% positive feedback) via eBay Daily Deals offers the current generation 13.3-inch Apple MacBook Air 1.6GHz/4GB/128GB (MJVE2LL/A) for $899.99 with free shipping. That’s $99 off the retail price of $999.

If you need more storage and don’t mind buying a previous generation Air, this 13-inch model is on sale for as low as $850 at Best Buy.

Looking for one of Apple’s other 2015 MacBook Air or Retina MacBook Pro (w/ Force Touch) models? Amazon has a (very modest) sale on them.
