Results have been somewhat mixed but there has clearly been an interest amongst consumers for this type of technology. This week, Brinks announced a new competitor in this space that blends familiar features with some new ideas.
The Array Digital Deadbolt has all the typical app-connected qualities. But instead of using low-power connection options like ZigBee or Bluetooth, Brinks is relying on Wi-Fi to communicate between devices. Because of the increased power drain, a solar panel has been built-in to the lock to help keep things running. More details below.
