Though we experienced the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Gunfight alpha a few weeks ago, this past weekend PlayStation 4 players got to give the multiplayer experience a whirl. I spent several hours in the various game modes of Modern Warfare’s multiplayer offering. Here’s our review of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer beta.

Activision and Infinity Ward just finished up a weekend with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Gunfight mode in alpha. It was open to all players, even those who hadn’t pre-ordered the game yet. I spent quite a bit of time in both Gunfight and Gunfight OSP modes and here are my thoughts.
This post will mainly focus on the actual gameplay of Gunfight mode if you want to learn more, read up in our announcement post here.

If you’re anything like me, then you’re likely waiting for the next Call of Duty with bated breath. I cannot wait for the remake of Modern Warfare to hit, as the original series was among my favorite Call of Duty games ever. Well, we’re getting our first taste of the latest from Infinity Ward this weekend in an open 2v2 alpha test for all on PlayStation 4. That’s right, this is exclusive to PlayStation gamers for now, but if you have Sony’s latest console, then you can enjoy Modern Warfare in alpha form before all of your friends from August 23rd to 25th.

Last year, we got Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, but this year we’re not getting a “sequel”, at least, not in normal sorts. Published by Activision and developed by Infinity Ward, this year, we’ll be getting Call of Duty: Modern Warfare as an all-new title, not just a remaster. Featuring a unified narrative experience and progression, you’ll enjoy an epic single-player story, action-packed multiplayer, and a brand-new cooperative gameplay experience. Plus, there’s no waiting required, pre-orders are open now at your favorite retailers with a release slated for October 25th.

As part of its ongoing 2-day sale, Best Buy has an interesting combo deal with the PlayStation 4 Call of Duty Black Ops III Bundle and a Sharp 43-inch LED 1080p Smart Roku TV for $499.98 shipped. This PS4 bundle is regularly listed at $349.99 from GameStop, Amazon and most other retailers, which brings the effective price on the HDTV down to just $150. While this particular model Sharp Roku TV is a Best Buy exclusive, it usually sells for $320+ on its own or as much as $400 from third-party Amazon sellers.
