Update (5/9 4:35pm): The below TarDisk has now sold out, but we also spotted other notable prices on Amazon and Stacksocial

TarDisk is offering 15% off exclusively to 9to5Toys readers today on itsTarDisk Pear solid-state expansion drive product for MacBook. This isn’t an SD card, instead it uses TarDisk’s software to create a fusion drive with your internal storage, meaning it will act as a permanent storage upgrade instead of like an SD card or thumb drive (full review).

With the 15% off, you can take $59.85 off the regular $399 price of the 256GB model, or $22.35 off the $149 regular price for the 128GB model.

Get 15% off TarDisk – 128GB $126.65 (Reg. $149) or 256GB $339.15 (Reg. $399)

expiredWD Black2 Dual Drive 2.5″ 120GB Solid State Drive + 1TB Hard Drive Kit $120 shipped (Reg. $180+)

Newegg offers the WD Black2 Dual Drive (WD1001X06XDTL) 2.5″ 120 GB SSD + 1 TB hard drive kit for $149.99. Coupon code ESCAKAS25 brings the final price down to $119.99 shipped. That’s a savings of $60+ off the regular price, $30 better than Amazon and the lowest that we’ve seen it go for.

This dual hard drive combination pairs a SSD with a traditional mechanical hard drive, allowing for data to be stored in either location depending on the needs of the user. Much like a fusion drive from Apple, this setup in theory offers flexibility that other solutions do not. This hard drive includes a five year warranty and a SATA to USB cable. At this time, it appears the drive is only supported on Windows machines.

At Amazon, this storage solution is rated 3.8/5 stars by over 100 users.
