IGN is now offering EA’s MASS EFFECT INFILTRATOR as its free game of the month.  Regularly listed at $4.99 and with 4 stars from 3,071 ratings, you can now download the game for free on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch for free via IGN’s deal page. We have seen the game go down as low as $1 several times on the App Store, but never free.

This is an all-new Mass Effect story set in the same universe as the events we remember from the main console titles. “As Commander Shepard battles Reapers across the galaxy, veteran Cerberus agent Randall Ezno procures aliens for illicit experiments at a secret facility. But when the Director of the facility goes too far – Randall fights back and vows to bring Cerberus down!”

IGN has just announced that Valiant Hearts: The Great War for iOS is its free iOS game for the month of January. Typically priced at $4.99, Ubisoft’s interactive comic book iPad/iPhone game is “a mix of exploration, action and puzzles.” Its deep story was inspired by letters from World War 1. Thousands of App Store users rate it 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Pocket Gamer to offer one free iOS app every day for two weeks

Pocket Gamer has kicked off its Advent Calendar of free iOS games. Everyday (other than weekends), the outlet will offer one free iOS app for 24 hours for a total of 10. Today’s freebie app is the tactical strategy game Hoplite (Reg. $2). You can find that and a whole lot more in this morning’s games/app roundup.

IGN has chosen Kingdom Rush Frontiers as its Free Game of the Month. While the highly rated tower defense game is regularly listed at $2.99 and does tend to go sale for $1 from time to time, we are yet to see it go free on the App Store. It has 4.5 stars from 5,038 ratings.

Building off of the basics that made the original Kingdom Rush a hit among mobile gamers, developer Ironhide has added all new towers (18 new abilities), heroes, environments, 40 enemies with “unique abilities” and more. Players “defend exotic lands from dragons, man-eating plants, and ghastly denizens of the underworld.” Head below for more details:

IGN Stories September 5, 2014

IGN has just announced that its free iOS game for the month of September will be Hitman GO. Typically priced at $4.99, this is the first time we have ever seen this game available as a free download since it was released back in April. Over 3,200 App Store users have rated it 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Here’s the premise:

Hitman GO is a turn-based strategy game with beautifully rendered diorama-style set pieces. You will strategically navigate fixed spaces on a grid to avoid enemies and take out your target or infiltrate well-guarded locations. You really have to think about each move and all the Hitman tools of the trade you would expect are included; disguises, distractions, sniper rifles and even 47’s iconic Silverballers.

To take advantage of this offer you must go through this IGN promo page and and click the “get my free game” button. From there, you will receive a unique promo code that can be used to redeem a copy of Hitman GO for iOS.

IGN has named Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead: Season 2 as its free iOS game of the month for August. The app usually runs for $5.99, but you can head over to IGN to get it for free right now. The game runs on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

The second season picks up where the previous one left off, following fan-favorite Clementine through a bleak and brutal world based on Robert Kirkman’s wildly popular post-apocalyptic comic series. Choices made in the first season will carry over and impact the story going forward.

IGN Stories July 12, 2014

After a bit of a wait, IGN has now announced OTTTD as July’s Free Game of the Month. Available on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, free promotional codes are available now. Regularly priced at $4.99, the game has dropped to $2.99 on the App Store previously, but this marks this first time we have seen the iOS version go free.

OTTTD (or Over The Top Tower Defense) is not your average tower defense game. It blends elements of real time strategy games, tower defense and giant, flying, undead sharks. While described as “anything-goes TD game that doesn’t take itself seriously,” there is an intense and tactical blend of RD and RTS gameplay at its core.

With additional game modes on the way, there are already 20 story missions, a unique and meaningful tempa-death system and boss battles, as well as a character class and leveling system. You can check out some screenshots and the gameplay trailer below.

IGN has just revealed its Free Game of the Month for June as Deus Ex: The Fall. Now available for free on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, this is the first time we have seen the popular Square Enix title go free on the App Store.

The Fall is an action RPG set in a similar cyberpunk world as its popular console counterpart, Deus Ex: Human Revolution. It also features much of the same shooting, hacking, stealth, player choice and physical augmentation powers as well. It is a full 5 hour experience that has been highly regarded for its ability to transfer a console-like experience to the mobile space.

The game is a completely free download in 44 countries worldwide (Reg. $7), but be sure to get it while you can as IGN is saying it is available on a first-come first-serve basis. Head over to our game roundups for more iOS deals.

EPOCH.2 on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch is now free as part of IGN’s Free Game of the Month. The 4 star rated game has been bouncing around between $6 and $2 (sometimes as low as $1) since its release on the App Store in 2013, but we are yet to see it go free.

EPOCH.2 is a robotic post apocalyptic cover shooter that follow’s the story of humanity’s downfall. Developed specifically for touch screens, EPOCH.2 features intuitive touch controls, along with strategic split screen battlefield decision making and special countermeasure abilities.
