expiredApp Store Free App of the Week: Matter 3D photo effects goes free for the first time ($3 value)

Apple has now handpicked the unique 3D photo effects app Matter to be the new Free App of the Week. It is regularly listed at $2.99, but can now be dowloaded to all your iOS devices for free. This is the very first time the app has gone free on the App Store since it released back in July of 2014.

Developer ChAIR has put its popular Infinity Blade games on sale today. While all three titles have been individually dropped down to $2.99, the Infinity Blade Trilogy iOS bundle which contains all three titles is available for 50% off: $4.99 (Reg. $10). We have seen IB1 go free and the other two drop to $1, but this is the lowest we have seen for the entire trilogy at once (outside of holiday sales) and the best price available.

Gameloft’s latest mobile military shooter, Modern Combat 5: Blackout, is getting a substantial update today along with a nice price drop. Regularly listed at $6.99, the highly rated FPS can be had for just $3.99 right now, matching the lowest we’ve seen it go for.

Already listed in “App Store’s Best of 2014” in 28 countries, MC5: Blackout received a number of new additions to its multiplayer suite along with a host of other goodies to keep players locked and loaded over the holiday season. Expect to see two new multiplayer maps (Scramble and Overtime), new level-120 cap limit, new class skills, weapons, masks and kill signs. Gameloft has added in vote and rematch systems for multiplayer maps and specific match-ups along with some holiday themed music, skins and more.

Today is a big day in gaming, not only for the discounts but because we now finally know the exact release date for Xbox One. Following yesterday’s multiplayer reveal trailer (above), the first special edition pre-orders for the upcoming Call of Duty: Ghosts are now available on Amazon for every platform. The Call of Duty: Ghosts Prestige Edition will run you $199.99 (pictured below), and includes the DLC Season Pass, Collectible SteelBook, Paracord Strap and an actual 1080p HD Tactical Camera. The tactical camera is modeled from in-game equipment, is shock proof, water resistant and features a 170 degree wide angle lens. It also comes with a 4GB memory card, batteries, and editing software.
