If you regularly work with multiple apps, you should check out SizeUp for Mac. This utility gives you complete control over your windows via keyboard shortcuts, and 9to5Toys Specials has it now for $5.

The app has a range of preset sizes and positions for windows — you can quickly assign one half of the screen to your primary workspace, and give other windows a quarter each, for instance. Equally, you can divide your desktop into thirds, and “stick” windows to a preset position by dragging them to the edge of the screen. SizeUp provides support for Spaces and extra monitors, and all of these presets can be triggered with fully customizable shortcuts. The SnapBack feature lets you put windows back to their previous state, while the spacing and positioning of the presets can be adjusted under settings.

Snagit makes sharing screengrabs as easy as 1-2-3: $25 (Orig. $50)

Whether you are explaining WordPress, or just sharing your gaming highlights, screen-grabbing is the way to go. Snagit makes it easy to share images and video, and 9to5Toys Specials has it for $25.

This app for Mac and PC is designed to provide an all-in-one workflow for sharing the content on your screen. Once you set up a custom hotkey, you can make an instant grab at any time. This includes capturing whole web pages, when you would otherwise need to scroll. Once you have captured what you want to share, you can crop and annotate your screenshots, and trim away unnecessary parts of video grabs. The Steps feature is particularly neat: it allows you to create step-by-step instructions for the recipient to follow. Once you are done editing, your image or video can be easily exported.

The license lets you install the app on two devices, and the current deal is half price off the MSRP.

Update (12/4 10:15am): TextExpander 3 + custom keyboard now available for $1.99 (Reg. $5) on iOS as well.

Typing out the same replies and contact details every day is the kind of time-sapping task that TextExpander cuts down on. 9to5Toys Specials has this award-winning Mac productivity app for $22.

This neat utility lets you save all the text snippets you use regularly, and assign a shortcut to them. For instance, instead of typing out your email signature, you could just write “eml” and TextExpander will do the rest. This works pretty much everywhere in OS X, and you can automatically fill in the current date and time. As you type, the app looks out for and fixes the typos you make most often, and it will automatically fill out forms with your details. The current version also intelligently suggests the shortcuts you might want to use, based on your usual style of doing things. It is an amazing time saver, and it comes in several different languages.

1Password is arguably one of the best password management system around, and certainly one of our favorite. Today, it is on sale at the Mac App Store for $34.99. At regular $50, this is matching the best price we have seen on the Mac App Store and within $7 of a limited promo code deal from over 3 months ago. We haven’t seen it go for less on the Mac App Store in over a year.

However, those with access to a .edu email address can get the Mac app for even less. Over on the official AgileBits shop, 1Password for Mac is just $27.99 using a .edu email address during checkout. That’s matching our previous limited promo price and the best we have seen in over a year. Student and faculty members are eligible for the discounted rate and should checkout using a .edu email. If you don’t have a .edu email, you can checkout with your regular email but you should have an active student/faculty ID available in case you’re contacted by AgileBits

Keep in mind, you will get updates faster purchasing the app directly from Agile, but there is no iCloud syncing like the Mac App Store version. Agile’s purchase does support Dropbox for cross-platforming syncing though (Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, and Windows Phone).
