expiredApple’s new MacBook Air gets first discount, iPad Pro $50 off (Tax only in select states)

MacMall is currently taking $50 off the latest MacBook Air models, with the entry-level configuration being discounted to $1,149 shipped. MacMall is currently quoting delivery in 10 days. With added tax benefits in some states, this is a nice way to grab Apple’s latest MacBook and offset some expenses until April. Today’s deal is also a match of Apple’s education pricing. This model sports a 1.6GHz Intel i5 processor, 128GB SSD, 8GB of RAM and two Thunderbolt 3 ports. Additional details can be found here in our event coverage.

The same $50 off deal is also being extended to the latest iPad Pros, which is a match of Apple’s .edu offer we told you about last week. You can grab the 11-inch Wi-Fi + Cellular 64GB model for $899 or the entry-level 12-inch Wi-Fi 64GB for $949. Both offers are the best price currently available. Learn more in our launch coverage.

Update 11/7 @ 2:00 PM: Costco is offering its members up to $50 off the latest iPad Pro. Prices start at $769.99 + $5 for shipping. Discount varies by model.

apple-tv-4th-generation copy

The launch of the new fourth-generation Apple TV has been interesting to say the least. Pre-orders started on Monday, but you’d hardly know it was available based on Apple’s site. As the first batch of orders are beginning to ship, other retailers are beginning to offer pre-orders as well.

MacMall Stories June 3, 2015

Apple’s 12-inch MacBook has been backordered since it was unveiled back in March. The Silver and Space Gray models have come in and out of stock a couple times, but the Gold model has been nearly impossible to nail down.

But right now MacMall has a range of models in-stock and available for shipment as soon as today including both standard configuration Gold models. What’s more, each model is $10 below Apple’s price and MacMall only charges sales tax at the time of purchase for buyers in a handful of states.

If you were to order those models right now from it would take upwards of 5 weeks to receive your new Mac. Shipping times from other resellers aren’t much better: Best Buy shows 4-7 weeks, Amazon just says “This item has not yet been released,” and B&H just lists “coming soon.”

MacMall has gotten a couple MacBook inventory refreshes over the past few months, but they always sell out quickly.

The all-new 12-inch MacBook features an ultra-thin design, Force Touch, Retina display, and a reengineered keyboard. Not sure the new MacBook is for you? Take a minute to read our review. expand full story
