The unexpected Star Wars and Cover Girl collaboration hits shelves in September

If you were thinking about dressing up for the premier of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” this December, Cover Girl’s latest announcement might give you some inspiration: An exclusive line of Star Wars-themed makeup will be hitting the shelves in September!

This unexpected and exciting collaboration between the cosmetics giant and the sci-fi franchise is making waves online. Promotional shots released by Cover Girl showcase a collection of “light side” and “dark side”-themed products styled by the influential makeup pioneer, Pat McGrath. Six looks informed by the iconic imagery in the Star Wars universe showcase a fantastic variety of exclusive, on-trend products, including six lipstick shades, three nail polish colors, and two different mascaras—one “Light Side”, one “Dark Side”. To increase the collectability factor, each mascara comes with one of ten classic Star Wars phrases, including “May the force be with you,” “I will finish what you started,” and “You’re my only hope.”

Cover Girl partnered with YouTube megastar Alexys Fleming (MadeULook by Lex) to create a tutorial for each of the Stormtrooper look. Fleming is recreating each of these looks on on her channel, MadeYewLook. The first tutorial on the Stormtrooper look went live on August 13 and already has 147,000+ views.

This Cover Girl Star Wars line will be available in stores on September 4. Lipsticks range from $5.99 to $7.99, nail polish from $4.99 to $6.99, and mascaras from $5.49 to $7.99.
