Marvel’s updated plans for phase three of its cinematic universe + comicbook goodies

Marvel’s Phase 3 has yet to begin but it’s already getting schedule changes. Today the studio announced that Ant Man will get a sequel with a release date of July 6, 2018.

Following our hero’s debut adventure in this summer’s “Ant-Man,” Scott Lang will return alongside Hope Van Dyne on July 6, 2018 with Marvel’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp.” The sequel will mark the first Marvel Studios film named after its heroine.

The film will now occupy the release slot originally taken by Black Panther, which has now moved forward to February 16, 2018. Then the Captain Marvel movie will shift from November of that year to March 2019.

The complete Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase Three schedule now looks like this:

  • May 6, 2016: Captain America: Civil War
  • November 4, 2016: Doctor Strange
  • May 5, 2017: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
  • July 28, 2017: Spider-Man
  • November 3, 2017: Thor: Ragnarok

Tomorrow is the first day of September and if you’re a Netflix subscriber you know that means a slew of new programming is coming your way. A few highlights include: The Walking Dead: Season 5, Gotham: Season 1, and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 to name a few. Also, to make room for all this new programming a bunch of content is going to be leaving as well. This September is a little different because Netflix’s deal with Epix is expiring and they aren’t going to renew. This means all Epix movies are leaving Netflix and are heading over to Hulu. Some of the titles that are leaving are: The Wolf of Wall Street, The Hunger Games: Catching FireTransformers: Age of Extinction, plus many more.

Stream Pixar’s animated short Lava in its entirety for free

Until today the only way to see Pixar’s Lava short film was to catch it before a showing of Inside Out. But now Disney and Pixar are letting you stream the entire film for free from the Disney Movies Anywhere app.

To watch it you’ll need to sign-in to the app (or create a free account) and then head to the ‘Featured’ tab where you’ll see a big banner for Lava. Just tap the ‘Watch Video’ button and you’ll be off and running. Enjoy the film and good luck getting its song out of your head :D.

Inspired by the isolated beauty of tropical islands and the explosive allure of ocean volcanoes, LAVA is a musical love story that takes place over millions of years.
