Samsung – in partnership with Seagate – has announced the “world’s first 4TB USB-powered single drive solutions” that are housed in 2.5-inch enclosures. There are two models as a part of today’s news, the M3 and P3, coming in at 0.78 inches thin and weighing only 8.3 ounces. These will offer twice the capacity of Samsung’s 2TB portable drive while gaining 1/10-inch of thickness and can handle USB 3.0 speeds.
Both 4TB models will be available later this month directly from Samsung and other retailers. Pricing has yet to be announced at this time.
In need of some portable storage? Best Buy offers the Toshiba Canvio 1TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive for $49.99. Amazon has Seagate’s Expansion 1TB for $54 as well. For those in need of larger capacities, check out this deal on a 8TB solution.
