We first told you about What? Watch back in November as it released a new take on smartphone-connected timepieces. Now, four months later, What? has jumped on Kickstarter with its Calendar Watch in hopes of raising $100,000. That goal was easily surpassed within a few days.

Why so much interest? The Calendar Watch has a built-in display behind the face that visually blocks out busy sections of your day. For example, have a business lunch at noon? That piece of the pie on your display will be color coordinated to reflect your unavailability. Add an event later this evening? It will update automatically and show those changes. On top of it all, it’s a pretty good looking watch…

We’ve been inundated with smartwatches and wearables over the last year. Now, 2015 is coming to a close with one more new release. This morning, the Omate Rise Standalone Smartwatch for iOS and Android launched on Indiegogo. In just a few hours it has doubled its initial goal and is beginning to sell out of inventory.

You see, Omate differs from many crowdfunding projects that go on for weeks and even months at a time. This campaign is set to conclude before the end of the week with just over 1,000 units available. With a $199 price tag, it’s no surprise that backers are snatching Omate up while the campaign is still live. More details below.

The BLOCKS modular smartwatch hit Kickstarter today and in just a few short hours it has flown past its initial $250,000 goal. There was a lot of hype initially surrounding its launch, which has proven to be well deserved.

BLOCKS was first teased back at CES with a promise of hitting the crowdfunding circuit this summer. The build-your-own watch offers a unique alternative to Apple Watch and Android Wear examples that are largely limited in function by their software capabilities. Although it took a little more time than originally expected, today’s response has been through the roof. Head below for more details.
