Pvilion has teamed up with Tommy Hilfiger to create a clothing line that’ll help keep your USB devices charged, but most likely won’t score you any points with the ladies.
The backs of the jackets send sunlight energy though a hidden USB cable to charge a dual-USB portable battery pack. Once charged, you can use the battery to top off your smartphone, tablet, or any other USB-powered device. According to Pvilion, “…the high output solar cells can fully charge the battery pack which, in turn, can fully charge a standard 1500mAh mobile device up to four times.” That means the included power bank is right around 6000mAh.
There’s no way I would rock this jacket around town, but if I had an extra $600 to spare before a camping trip I may be slightly tempted to pick one up seeing as the solar panels are removable. On the other hand, I’d probably save 90% and buy a portable solar USB charger to toss over my shoulder if need be.
