It’s been a wild ride for Toys R Us over the last two years, as the brand shuttered its 180 stores and offered a massive fire sale of its inventory. In the time since a return has been teased in various forms but the future has primarily been unclear for the iconic giraffe and its storied history. Well, today, we’re getting some answers. Toys R Us powered Target is coming to stores and computers around the United States this holiday shopping season. The online storefront has officially reopened today with all the usual Target perks backing it up, including 5% off with REDcard and same-day pickup where available. January of last year, Toys “R” Us declared that it would be closing 180 stores and selling off its remaining assets. In October of 2018, the company canceled its bankruptcy filing to rebrand itself as Geoffrey’s Toy Box. Now, it looks like one of the former Toys “R” Us executives who started Tru Kids Inc. wants to bring back Toys “R” Us. Earlier this month, Toys R Us announced that its assets would be reorganized with Geoffrey, LLC. This reorganization would bring about the stop of the toy store’s bankruptcy and closing from earlier this year. But, now we have some new news out of the Dallas Toy Preview, where Geoffrey was spotted and a booth labeled “Geoffrey’s Toy Box” was seen (and registered).
