The happiest place on earth is home to iconic theme parks, world class hotels, top-shelf food and, of course, Mickey Mouse. It’s become almost a rite of passage for kids to make a pilgrimage to Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida, but all of those pixie dust encrusted accommodations and entertainment options can get awfully pricey.

The good news is that there are many ways you can save significant amounts of money throughout your Disney trip. As a former Florida resident and annual passholder, I’ve been to Disney World more times than I can count and have spent way too much time on Disney fan boards, as such I’ve learned all the ways to trim your ticket, hotel and food costs. Southwest’s everyday low fares have just gotten even lower. The airline company has kicked off a 3-Day Sale that’s offering one-way flights to major cities including New York and Washington DC as low as $49.

Other flights have been discounted down to $99 and $149. Flights from Orlando, FL (Disney World!) start at just $99 one-way. Southwest is currently booking through the beginning of January, but this sale only covers flights from 8/25 to 12/16. expand full story
