While we’ve already seen Microsoft, EA and Bethesda, just awhile ago Ubisoft took to the E3 stage. As usual with Ubisoft, these trailers have some pretty salty language and are definitely NSFW. The most notable titles in today’s conference were: Ghost Recon: Wildlands, South Park: The Fractured but Whole, a new Star Trek VR, and Watch Dogs 2.

Even popular toys of yesteryear have returned with 3D capabilities as some of the hottest kid-focused products on the market. Today, HumanEyes is taking a shot with its new Vuze Camera. Virtual reality (VR) is no longer an experience reserved for science-fiction movies or training for technical jobs. This technology has seen significant strides in recent years that now allows consumers to have greater access to VR products. This growth has been spurred by companies like Oculus, which has put significant resources into developing consumer-focused products.
Now, Mattel has joined in on this trend to remake its classic View-Master toy into a smartphone-connected virtual reality headset. Make no mistake, this is not the plastic viewfinder you enjoyed as a kid. This updated View-Master, first announced in February, includes top-of-the-line content from National Geographic and others. Trust us, this is guaranteed to hit everyone’s Christmas list this year.

Update (1/04 12:50pm): Oculus has now announced that pre-orders for the 3D Rift headset will go live on its official site as of January 6th at 11AM EST. No pricing information has been released as of yet. “As a reminder, every Rift comes bundled with Lucky’s Tale by Playful, and we’re also including CCP’s EVE: Valkyrie for free with every pre-order!”
Nearly three years after Oculus introduced us to what a VR headset in the home could look like, it has now finally unveiled the version it will be taking to retail. The consumer version of the Oculus VR headset was shown-off just a short while ago at the company’s pre-E3 2015 event, where we got more information on the hardware itself, how it will be integrated with Xbox One, and what kind of content we can expect on day one. expand full story
