Seth Weintraub is an award-winning journalist and blogger who won back to back Neal Awards during his three plus years  covering Apple and Google at IDG’s Computerworld from 20072010.  Weintraub next covered all things Google for Fortune Magazine from 2010-2011 amassing a thick rolodex of Google contacts and love for Silicon Valley culture.

It turns out that his hobby 9to5Mac.com blog was always his favorite and in 2011 he went full time adding his Fortune Google followers to 9to5Google.com and adding the commerce component 9to5Toys.com gear and deals site. In 2013, Weintraub bought one of the Tesla’s first Model S EVs off the assembly line and so began his love affair with the Electric Vehicle and green energy which is now electrek.co.

Ebay’s Sonix (99.2/100 rated) offers the UE MEGABOOM Bluetooth Speaker in Black manufacturer refurbished for $169.00 with free shipping. That’s good for $130 off the original MSRP, $125 less than Amazon and the lowest price that we have ever seen in any color. It is also $30 less than the MSRP of the smaller Boom/2.

The UE Megaboom was first released back Spring 2014, collecting a 4.4/5 star rating from 320 Amazon customers. We positively reviewed this speaker, noting that it “takes the volume to 11”

Features include 360-degree sound, IPX7 waterproofing, 100-ft. Bluetooth range and can be controlled via the UE MEGABOOM app. Users can expect a 20-hour battery life from a single charge. A microUSB cable is included for powering the speaker.

Logitech recently announced that you could use Siri or Google Now through Megaboom speakers.

As part of the run-up to Prime Day tomorrow, Amazon is offering its Prime members (free trial month) a Dash button for $.99. On top of that, you’ll get $4.99 credit once you make a purchase using the button. That’s $4 off the normal price before you count the $5 in credit. There are now tons of dash buttons to choose from – I’m going to try out the granola bar button…or coffee..or detergent. Amazon recently added over 50 new products to this service, including popular brands like NERF, Play-Doh, Cliff Bar and more.

In any case, when you are done, you can either continue using it as a dash button or enter the world of Dash button hacking.
